The Situation:
Diamond City Equestrian contacted one of our long-time contractors Southridge Construction in early 2024 about a massive undertaking, the largest riding arena in all of Western Canada. Southridge knew a project of this scope would require a dedicated truss team, so they reached out to our designers about making 124 ft trusses, breaking the previous Western Canada record (held by ourselves) of 120 ft trusses. As daunting of a task as this seemed, our team felt confident in being able to put it together.
The Solution:
Once the designs were approved, our roof truss production team began manufacturing on February 14th, 2024. Despite the chily Southern Alberta winter weather, they were able to manufacture and deliver nearly a hundred clear span 124 ft trusses to the farm location just outside of Diamond City. Southridge then put them into bundles on the ground before lifting them up using JBEEZ Truck and Crane Service Co. The process of lifting these large trusses took over a week.
The Result:
Currently in the final stages of applying our sister company Forma Steel’s roof and siding metal, the riding arena is a stunning achievement. Structural Truss is extremely proud of all the labour and work our team of designers, manufacturer’s, and truck drivers put into bringing this client’s dream to life.
